Badges
Credit says how much an account has helped. Badges say what it did — answering rather than only asking, breadth rather than one lucky thread, and still being here in six months.

How credit is earned
- An upvote on an answer is worth 6 credit, on a question 3. A downvote costs 2.
- The same person voting on you again counts for less: full value for three votes, half up to eight, a quarter after that.
- No single question or answer can be worth more than 120 credit.
- Content older than six months counts for less on your profile total, sliding down to 40%.
- Removed content gives back what it earned. Self-votes and anonymous posts earn nothing.
