9 months of mrr screenshots, 41k impressions, 3 paying customers - what's broken Public Metrics
138 posts since January, nearly all of them some flavour of "here is the number and what changed this week". I finally put the whole funnel in one chart instead of looking at one metric at a time, and it is bleak: 41,200 impressions, 1,180 profile clicks, 412 visits to the site, 31 free signups, 3 paying at $19/mo.
Product is a booking and reschedule tool for freelance photographers. The three paying customers all came from one comment I left under somebody else's post, not from a single one of my own posts.
Is the top of the funnel just too small to draw conclusions from, or is the content the wrong kind of content?

Your conversion rates are not the problem. 2.9% impression-to-click is ordinary, 35% click-to-visit is good, 7.5% visit-to-signup is fine for a cold audience. The problem is that 41,200 impressions over nine months is about 150 a day, and MRR screenshots reliably pull in the one group guaranteed not to buy a booking tool for photographers - other people building things.
You already ran the experiment and reported the result in your own post. The three sales came from a comment on somebody else's post, which is to say from being in front of photographers instead of in front of founders. That is the entire finding. The numbers posts are not an acquisition channel, they are a diary that occasionally gets distribution.

Run both, count them separately. Give the numbers posts their own UTM and stop mentally crediting them with signups they did not send. Once that split exists you will not be surprised by this chart in nine months' time, you will already know which half is doing the work.

So do I stop posting the number, or run both and accept the numbers posts are just for me?
