Two years self taught and still fighting the same shoulder and bust fit, is a paid class worth it or is that money better spent on fabric
I can construct things cleanly, my seams are neat and my zips behave, but every woven top ends up pulling across the front and gaping at the armhole and I have now done four muslins of the same pattern chasing it. Local classes near me run at about 200 for a six week evening course, and there is also a one day fitting workshop for around 90. That is a lot of fabric. Has a class actually solved this for anyone, or is it the sort of thing you only fix with a person in the room once?

Cheaper middle option before you book anything: get a friend to take four photographs of you wearing the muslin, front, back and both sides, arms down, no posing. Fit problems are obvious in a photograph and invisible in a mirror because you unconsciously adjust while you look. Four muslins in a row means you are diagnosing blind, and the camera fixes that for free.
