Which repairs did you do yourself and genuinely wish you had just paid somebody?
First house, decent with flat-pack and a drill, no experience beyond that. My list this year has a tiled bathroom floor and a couple of light fittings on it, plus the usual painting and filling. I am not trying to save the absolute maximum, I am trying not to make something worse and then pay twice. Where is the line for people who have been at this longer than me?

Tiled a bathroom floor, and I would do it again, but only because I now know what I did wrong. I tiled straight onto a floor that flexed, and eighteen months later there was a crack across four tiles and grout coming out in a line. Redoing it properly with the right board underneath cost more than the original job and took a weekend I did not have. Tiling itself is not the hard part. What is under the tiles is the hard part, and nobody tells you that on the internet.
