Mine run past thirty hours and everyone talks about migraines like they're an afternoon
Two or three a month, and once the pain starts it typically holds for somewhere between 28 and 36 hours before it fades. When I mention it at work people clearly picture a bad headache that a nap fixes, and I've started wondering whether mine are unusual or whether everyone is quietly having the same long ones. How long do yours actually run from first pain to properly gone?

Mine are 8 to 10 hours of pain and then roughly a day of feeling like I've been hit by a bus, and for a long time I reported that as "a day and a half."
So part of the variation in answers you'll get is people drawing the boundary in different places. If you count from the first weird symptom — the yawning, the neck stiffness, the word-finding trouble — to genuinely normal, mine is closer to 48 hours. If you count only the pain, it's 9. Same attack, two very different numbers, and that's before anyone's brain is different from anyone else's.
