One good sunscreen or a cheap one I'll actually reapply on 15 a month Sunscreen

I can afford roughly 15 pounds a month on sunscreen. That's either one nice imported bottle I'd ration and use maybe half the recommended amount of, or two bottles of a supermarket one I'd apply properly and reapply at lunch. I work indoors near a window and walk about forty minutes a day. Which way do people actually go?

The cheap one you apply properly, every time, and it isn't close. Performance is dominated by how much you put on. The tested figure assumes a genuinely thick layer, and applying half of it does not give you half the protection, it gives you considerably less than half. A rationed premium bottle is the most common way people end up under-protected while feeling careful.

The only thing worth holding out for is a texture you'll tolerate daily, because a sunscreen you skip is worth zero at any price. If the supermarket one feels acceptable, buy it in bulk and stop thinking about it.

Applying half doesn't give you half is the fact that settles it. Going with the cheap one.

Buy the largest size the brand sells. The per-ml cost drops enough that the rationing instinct disappears on its own.

The window matters less than people think for the burning wavelengths, ordinary glass blocks most of that. Your forty minutes of walking is the part that actually accumulates over years. So yes, daily, but you can be relaxed about the desk hours.

Glass is much less effective against the longer wavelengths, so strong direct sun through a window all day isn't nothing. For forty minutes of walking versus a bit of side light, the walk still dominates.

Halfway house: cheap one for body and reapplication, one small nicer one for your face if texture is what stops you wearing it. That's usually under budget and removes the excuse.

Reapplication at lunch is doing a lot of work in your question. Be honest about whether you'll do it over makeup, because most people don't, and if you won't then a thicker morning application of the affordable one is the realistic plan.
