Mattress shopping in India — does anything above the ₹30,000 mark actually get you more? Regional
Queen, Hyderabad, and my budget can stretch to about ₹45,000 if there is a reason. Currently on a coir mattress that came with the flat and it is now firm in some places and soft in exactly the wrong one. I have tried three showrooms and each one told me their memory foam was the only correct answer, which is not information. Big worry is heat — the room touches 34°C in May with a fan only — and the second worry is that the online brands' trial periods look great until you read what pickup involves.

Heat should drive your whole decision at that budget. Dense memory foam in a room that hits 34°C without air conditioning is genuinely unpleasant, and no amount of gel infusion changes it much. Latex, or a pocket-spring hybrid with a thin comfort layer, both breathe far better. I went latex four years ago in Chennai and it is the single purchase I would repeat.

Natural latex prices here have gone up a lot and a lot of what is sold as latex is a blend. Ask for the percentage in writing before you pay, because the blends behave much more like foam in the heat.

Agreed, and check the density. A low-density latex sheet over a foam core is marketed as a latex mattress and it is not the same product at all.
