Oily skin, humid city: which sunscreen doesn't turn into a slick by noon? Oily / Acne-Prone
Singapore, oily and mildly acne-prone, and every sunscreen I've tried is either a white cast or a grease film within three hours. I've ruled out the heavy mineral formulas already because they pill under everything I put on top. Budget is around S$35 and I'd happily reapply midday if I could find something that layers without rolling off in sheets.

Two things separate the ones that survive humidity: an alcohol-containing formula that flashes off, and a finish described as matte rather than dewy. The trade-off is that alcohol formulas sting if your barrier is compromised, so if you're using anything actives-heavy at night that's a real cost rather than a theoretical one.

I am on a retinoid twice a week, so that's context I hadn't connected to the stinging at all.
