Handstand always falls to the left after about eight seconds against a wall Progression Help
Chest-to-wall handstands, can hold about 25 seconds there. Freestanding I get maybe eight seconds and then drift consistently left, every single time, never right. I've tried gripping harder with my fingers which delays it by a second or two. Is a one-directional drift a strength thing, a shoulder thing, or just something I have to log more hours on?

Consistent one-direction drift is almost always an alignment issue, not a strength one. Something in your setup is off-centre and you're just watching gravity do its work.
Things to check, in order:
Gripping harder helps because you're fighting it with your fingers, which works for a second or two and then can't. That's a symptom that confirms the diagnosis.

There it is. Mark two spots on the floor with chalk or tape and set your hands on them deliberately every rep for the next few weeks until it stops feeling like a conscious act.

Filmed from the front and my left hand is maybe 4cm further forward than my right. Consistently.
