Small flat, one desk, and realistically I'd stand twice a day rather than every hour. TROTTEN is the crank one, MITTZON is the electric one, and the gap between them is real money for me. The complication: I'm 1.68 m and my partner is 1.90 m, and we share the desk, so it would get changed far more often than a single-user setup. Does the crank get old fast when two people are swapping?
Two people sharing is exactly the case where the crank loses. Solo, twice a day, the crank is genuinely fine — it's about forty turns and it doubles as a reason to actually stand up. Shared between a 1.68 m and a 1.90 m person, you'll be changing it four or five times a day and one of you will quietly stop bothering, which means one of you sits at the wrong height permanently.
That last sentence is the thing I hadn't thought about and it's obviously what would happen.
The other angle: IKEA frames are fine and the tops are the compromise. If you find the electric frame on the clearance floor, a solid top from anywhere else bolts straight on. That's how I got mine well under what I'd budgeted.
Electric with presets or you won't use it. Every point of friction you add reduces the number of times a day you'll change position, and the whole purchase is about changing position.
Opposite experience — I have presets and I still stand twice a day, because standing up is the hard part, not pressing a button. Don't buy motors to fix a habit.
Fair for a single user. With two people 22 cm apart it isn't a habit problem, it's a chore each of them has to perform before they can start working.

Had the crank one for two years. Its virtue is that it never breaks — there's nothing in it to fail. But there are no presets, so with two target heights you're eyeballing it every single time. I stuck a strip of masking tape down the leg with two pencil marks on it and that solved about 90% of the annoyance for free.
