Free calorie tracker that is not upselling me a coach every third screen — what are people using?
I used MyFitnessPal for years and drifted away when barcode scanning went behind the subscription, and everything I have tried since seems to want a monthly fee and a personality. Android, and honestly I only need calories, protein, and a food database that knows supermarket own brands in the UK. I plan to log for about eight weeks to recalibrate my sense of portions and then stop, so a yearly subscription makes no sense. What are you actually using, free or one time purchase?

I paid for a year of a well known tracker, logged for 11 days, and let it renew once out of pure inattention. Two things I would do differently: pay monthly for anything you intend to use temporarily, and decide up front what would make you stop. Eight weeks is a good plan precisely because it has an end, so put the end in your calendar now.
