Adding a part-time person to the inbox - how do you stop two people answering the same ticket?
About 30 tickets a week, all in Gmail with labels, and I am bringing on someone for ten hours a week in a timezone roughly eight hours ahead of me. The two things keeping me up are two of us replying to the same email with different answers, and their replies not sounding like the product. Nothing is written down anywhere yet. What did you put in place before day one?

Gmail with two humans in it will produce a collision in the first fortnight, and it will be on the ticket where the answers differ. Ask me how I know.
What we did before day one, in order of how much it mattered:
The timezone gap is a gift, not a problem. They clear the overnight queue before you wake, you handle your own day.

Add never say we are a small team as an excuse to that list. Customers do not care about your headcount and it reads as a preemptive apology.

The list of sentences we never say is a much better artefact than a tone document. Writing that tonight.
