Twice flat, and the second one killed the battery outright. That matches the deep discharge point: it is not that the battery is empty, it is what sitting empty does to it, and it starts immediately.
If it goes flat, charge it that week rather than when convenient. The damage is cumulative and it is not visible until it will not start on a cold morning.
