Which is an argument for the proxy version rather than the editor version. One place to change, and it does not vanish in a settings sync.

The odds of a major editor adding a competitor's custom header are close to zero, so plan for that. Realistically this gets resolved either at the proxy layer or by the vendor accepting something standard, and both of those are somebody else's timeline. If your work depends on it, do not wait.
Maybe. It also depended on the studio remembering to link at all, which is the part nobody puts in a launch plan.
A subdomain is not a guaranteed way out. A game wiki I help with lives on the studio's own domain and still had almost a year of only the main page showing. What finally moved it was months of the game's official news posts linking to specific wiki pages, not just the homepage.
Step one of launching a wiki in 2026: find somebody who already owns a domain.
