If you do want to build the grip anyway, add 3 sets of 30 second heavy holds at the end of your session, not the start. Take a weight you can hold for about 25 seconds and just stand there. Two months of that and you'll feel a real difference, but do it after the deadlifts so it never limits them.

Practical bit for next time you have guests: stagger showers by 30 minutes and do laundry overnight. A well that recovers in an hour is fine for two people and marginal for six. We put a small sign in the guest bathroom and it stopped being a problem.
The shallow dish thing is such an obvious point and I have never once thought about it.
Just pulled the crisper out entirely. There was a small lake under it. I owe this thread a fridge shelf.
Also worth knowing that enriched breads with fat in them, brioche and the like, stale more slowly. The fat interferes with the starch reordering. It's not that they're fresher, it's that they resist the process.
Slight disagreement with the anti-5x5 crowd. If you're relatively new, 5x5 at weights that aren't yet brutal doesn't need three minutes of rest, 90 seconds is fine and the session fits. It's when the bar gets genuinely heavy that the rest requirement blows up your schedule. So it may be a good fit now and a bad one in six months.
