The plate photo is the one to take away. Once a machine is installed the plate is usually against a wall or under something, and getting the serial afterwards has meant pulling out an appliance more than once.
Take it before it goes in, and take a second wide shot showing where it is, because in five years you will not remember which of three similar photos is the dishwasher.
