Enjoy the small ones. Pullet eggs have a much higher yolk to white ratio and are genuinely better for fried eggs on toast than anything you'll get later.

Also worth checking under the coop and in any stack of pallets or feed bags. Mine picked a gap behind the water butt one summer and I walked past it daily for a fortnight.
Strongly agree. I added two pallet lean-tos and the squabbling dropped off within days. They also use them for shade in summer.
Same principle applies. Anything that puts a warmer surface between the birds and the sheet will stop the condensation forming right above them.
Metal roof? If so, insulating the underside with foil-faced board or even a layer of cardboard stops the panel dropping below dew point and cures most of the dripping on its own. Combine that with high vents and it's fixed.
The apron rather than a trench makes this far more doable. How do I stop it being a trip hazard for us?
