Do a second pass a week later. My immediate cull is biased toward whatever I was excited about on the day, and the frames that survive a week are more reliably the good ones.
Counterpoint for travel specifically: a zoom saves the shots you cannot reposition for — across a canal, out of a moving train, a building you cannot back away from. For street alone, the prime. For travel where you get one pass at a place, the zoom earns its weight.
True, but it is still a useful diagnostic. Just do not treat 100 percent as the standard your work has to pass.
Seconding the 98 percent number. Under about 95 percent and you are decoding, not listening, and nothing sticks.
