Used ergonomic chairs at 400 are genuinely good value if you can find one locally and sit in it first. But do the height maths before you spend — if the answer is that the desk needs to be lower, the chair is not your constraint.

Check the armrests. If they are too low your shoulders hang all day and the traps take the load, which builds up on exactly this timescale. Mine were about 3cm too low and raising them changed my afternoons.

Three weeks is also short. Some soreness while you adapt to a new load is expected, but there is a difference between adaptation soreness that eases and a consistent ache in the same place getting worse. Yours sounds like the second, so back the dose off rather than pushing through it.
And answer their actual question in the first line. Most proposals open with a paragraph about the freelancer while the client is scanning for whether you understood the brief.
The three or four ways framing is the one that stuck for me. Perfect posture as a target lasted about a week before I gave up on it.
