This is the underrated point. The moment your counter becomes "count and last-updated timestamp", the atomic version needs a rethink and the mutex version needs one more line.

Eleven weeks of the same 5 reps at 80kg means the program stopped working eight weeks ago and you kept running it. Take 15% off, run 4 sets of 6 at 68kg for three weeks, then build back at 2.5kg a week. You'll blow past 80 in about six weeks. Small jumps also matter here — get microplates, 1.25kg increments are the difference between progress and grinding.
Check your setup sequence too. A lot of people bend down, grip the bar, and then try to set their back — by then the hips have already risen and the lumbar is loaded. Try: hinge to the bar with a flat back, grip without changing your back position, pull the slack out of the bar until you hear it click, then push the floor away. Setting the back before there's tension is the whole game.
This is why I stop trusting a filter that suddenly flows better than new. Fast is bad news.

Expected. You're shipping the whole runtime, the garbage collector, and everything statically linked, so a hello-world is already about 2MB before you write any code. 14MB for a real service with a database driver is normal.
Easy trim: go build -ldflags="-s -w" drops the symbol table and DWARF info, usually 25-30% off. You lose readable stack traces in some tooling, which I'd think about before doing it in production.

Completely normal after eight months off. Peak soreness at 48-72 hours and lingering for four or five days is textbook for the first session back, and it happens to people who've been training for a decade when they take a layoff.
The good news is the repeated bout effect: your second session will produce far less soreness than the first, and by session four it's mostly gone. You never get that first week back again in the same block.
Train again now rather than waiting. Light movement through the same range actually reduces soreness — go back in, do the same movements at the same light weight, and you'll walk out feeling better than you walked in. Waiting until it's completely gone just resets the clock.
