Sewing machine two years, serger two weeks. Currently losing a fight with four thread tensions at once.
I didn't realise checking it yourself was even an option, I assumed you needed the pump truck to know. That's exactly what I wanted.
For matching yarn, look at the inside seam allowance or the hem. Fine gauge jumpers often have a length of the original yarn tucked in at the shoulder seam, and even 30cm of it is enough for four small holes.
I've been pulling every row snug because loose looked wrong. Will try deliberately slack next time.
Getting the old slider off: snip one of the top stops with flush cutters, slide the old one off, put the new one on and then either fit a new metal top stop or, if you're not fussy, do three or four tight hand stitches across the coil where the stop was. The stitching version has held on my work jacket for two years.
Ask your friend what she actually cares about. Half the people who say they love the roping mean they love the fade line above it, which you can't keep either way at four inches.
I have rebuilt my portfolio site twice this year. Called out entirely.
That reframing helps a lot. My rate is definitely set as though I'd be billing 35.
Every session sounded excessive when I read it elsewhere but 20 seconds is nothing. Will do.
Reassuring in a depressing sort of way.
