Mostly the usual undemanding ones: anubias and java fern on the wood, crypts in the substrate, a floating plant to take the excess nutrients out. Nothing in there needs injection and nothing in there melts if I go away for two weeks.

That is a reasonable distinction and I would probably agree if it had happened once. It is the combination that got me: the failure is preventable, the trimming is not, and I was only tolerating the risk because I wanted the growth I was then throwing in the bin every week.
