From the receiving end: I unsubscribe from onboarding sequences the moment one arrives that clearly did not know what I had already done. Being told to complete a step I finished two days ago is the signal that nobody is paying attention, and everything after it gets ignored.
That is the cost of scheduled rather than triggered, and it is not recoverable.
