Shutting the window during the day feels so wrong but the numbers back it up. Two nights in and it is noticeably better.

Freshwater planted tanks since 2011, currently running four. Cycling, algae, water changes, and the unglamorous truth that most fish problems are actually water problems.
Had not thought about the pillow. Mine is memory foam and definitely part of the problem now that you mention it.
Take a photo of anything she brings up before you clean it. Sounds grim, but colour and content are what the vet asks about first and nobody remembers accurately three hours later.
Two boring things that helped me more than anything clever: eating dinner earlier, and cutting alcohol on weeknights. A drink at 9pm reliably woke me around 3 — it gets you to sleep fast and then the rebound arrives a few hours later. I did not believe it until I tracked it for a fortnight and the pattern was embarrassing.
Keep the lamp genuinely dim and do not check the time while you are up. Clock watching was doing more damage to me than the waking itself.
Also write down exactly what he was doing when it started, even if it seems trivial. Ours turned out to have gone off a low wall he goes off every day, and knowing the mechanism changed what they looked at first.
The Sunday tiredness makes sense — you removed the weekend lie-in that was quietly repaying some sleep debt, without yet fixing the debt itself. That is a real cost of the transition rather than a sign it is failing.
One practical thing: if you use a sock, do not tape it tight and do not leave it on unsupervised overnight. I made a mess of that once and made the whole thing worse.
Weigh her if you can do it without a fight — a kitchen scale and a carrier, or standing on bathroom scales holding her and subtracting yourself. Body weight over a fortnight is a much better signal than trying to guess how much of the bowl she ate.
Also worth noting the weather over those three weeks and whether the heating went on. Ours drinks visibly more from the first week of central heating every year and I forget every single time.
Blind, and specifically a blackout blind mounted on the wall above the frame rather than inside the recess, with the curtains left in place over the top. The leak you have is almost entirely edge leak, and mounting outside the recess is what kills it — an inside-mount blind of any quality still glows around three sides.
Renting is not really an obstacle. Four small screws into the wall above the window, filled on the way out, is well within normal wear as long as you are not drilling tile.
Fair. The travel argument is a good one and I would not argue with buying both at that price.
