Before blaming the hotel, test the same call on the same laptop on your hotspot for a full hour. You said it works, but ten minutes of working is not the same as an hour. If it eventually stutters on both, the common element is the laptop, not three hotels.
Cut a piece slightly undersized so it does not push against the PCB and defeat the gasket mount. Learned that the hard way.
The two pile thing matters. I spent a year suppressing all overlap and became a much worse listener, because I stopped signalling anything and people thought I had lost interest.
If the board takes them, plate mount stabs with a tight fitting plate are far more forgiving than PCB mount for a first build. Fewer variables to get wrong.
Closing an account has no effect at all, the drop must be a coincidence from something else reporting.
Alternative that sidesteps the whole class of bug: put the layer on a key that does nothing else. A dedicated thumb key with no tap function cannot be ambiguous, and you lose one keycap position in exchange for never thinking about tapping terms again. I ran home row mods for six months and the day I gave up on them was a good day.
One structural change beats a hundred small denials. I cancelled a gym I used twice a month and moved to a cheaper phone plan, total 71 a month, and I have never noticed either. Two decisions made once, versus talking myself out of coffee every day for a year.
